I honestly cannot believe how fast my baby has grown. But today, just 2 days after turning 10 months old, she started to walk!!! She's been trying and playing with it for a few weeks now. While I was at my mom's house a few weeks ago, she stood on her own for a long time. And then, like they always do, little by little she started to take more and more daring steps.
Until tonight, I got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen and she started to fuss like she always does when I leave the room. I looked back and she had this determined look on her face and just walked right over to me. It must have been a good 6-8 feet she walked. When she got to me, I started to celebrate real loud with lots of clapping and jumping, that she got scared and started to cry. Well that made me start to cry as well.
I'm so proud of her. She is just so determined and curious. I'm sure all you moms know what I'm talking about. But I just can't help but feel bittersweet about this. I'm so happy, but just wish that she would stop growing. I got a good video of her walking later on but I can't figure out how to get it out of the camera and on to the computer. So when I do, I'll post it here.
I'm already itching for another baby, but I know that the new one would just grow up too. So I'll forget about that feeling and just enjoy watching Madisen learn about this great big new world of walking.
Is it sad that I just started crying again?
I figured she'd be an early walker! What a cutie. We sure miss all of you!
ReplyDeleteYou kind of made me cry too. That's so awesome! I can't believe she's walking at 10 months.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's totally normal to cry when you realize your little one is getting big and reaching all these exciting milestones. That's just what being a mom is all about. :) Congrats on your little walker!
